Hello,
I've been perusing this site and thoroughly enjoy the information provided. I hope that someone will see me laying the cards on the table and offer some worthwhile suggestions.
I desperately want to change my career path to that of the culinary arts. I've made the decision to do it, but seem now to spend my nights awake wondering how? I want to pursue the Cordon Bleu's Grand Diplome here in Ottawa and have recently received an info package from them. How am I going to afford approx 40K??? when this institution isn't funded through OSAP and I have absolutely no collateral such as house or car to acquire such a loan from a bank? Boo hoo (I'm not kidding). Does anyone know of funding in Canada for such an education and, can I begin apprenticing in such a place as the Chateau Laurier without any experience. Finally, with what qualifications can I expect to begin employment as a sous-chef. I need to know what to expect in terms of $$$ if I walk into a job with my Grand Diplome in hand and little experience - for the sake of repaying that loan, of course.
Much thanks in advance for all comments or suggestions.
Sincerely,
Kim
