Well now! You really didn't say what exactly your paper is to be on, but here's a bit of advice:

If you have any interest in food, contact (by snail mail) Dr. Robert Theodoratus, Dept. of Anthropology, Colorado State U., Ft. Collins, CO 80523. Don't discount him because of the anthropology. The man is a walking bibliography, who can pull full citations (on almost any subject) out of his head, including ISBN numbers and the section of CSU's library that has a copy.

Theo (as fond students refer to him behind his back) was my professor for many years, and I learned a great deal from him. He teaches many unexpected classes, including FOOD AND CULTURE, a class I greatly enjoyed. For term papers he sent us out into restaurants.

If you have questions about food, especially wierd ones, contact him. He's a gem of knowledge, probably the best kept secret in Colorado.
