Try growing your own then. That is what I have done here in the Dominican Republic for the last 7 years. Compost the kitchen waste, buy great seed from “Ornamental Edibles” out in San Jose Calif. and do not use any insecticides. You could rent some land from the farmer and make sure it is done the way you want it to be. The farmer is only in for the money like all businessmen anyway. Organic and sustainable are the way because they are based on nature's immutable law of balance. Got to pay her dues or you gonna pay her price my friend.
Organic is nothing new, it is the oldest of old ways, before science modernized farming.
