: I'm about to begin my career in the foodservice industry and I was wondering what type of footwear do chefs prefer the most (shoes, boots, clogs, etc.) Also, I would like to know the brands of footwear that I should keep an eye out for. Should footwear be OSHA approved, or is comfort a greater priority? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Spend the bucks and get good pair of shoes
1. Comfortable
2. Good Support
I agree with Hans to many people "Chefs" where wrong type. With many years in the industry Im paying the price I have back problems and foot problems not wearing good "proper Shoes". If you are set on clogs its must to get back strap. I personally order through BA Mason 1800 422-1000 they give me great support, comforable, slip-less and accomdate my orthodics.I tried the wolverines Durashock I hated them .I found them to be uncomforable and heavy. I also found it important to wear proper socks, the thick athelic ones.If I work long day more than say 10 hours I usually change my socks.I find that helps not sure why?
