FYI, Jim (husband) and I brought home two bottles of their Dry Riesling and two whole salmon in our carry-on luggage last time we went to Seattle. We got some pretty interesting looks when they ran our bags through the x-ray machine at security.
I'll just bet you did. Back in the mid-1980's, a friend and I had a great time touring the Chateau Ste. Michelle winery. (So thoughtful of them to take us through the tasting room right before sending us into the gift shop!) Their varietals are all good, some more than others. The merlot is actually a bit better than the cabernet sauvignon, a touch lighter but still very full-bodied. It's been awhile since we had the dry riesling, might be time to try it again. The chardonnay's iffy -- sometimes it's just perfect, sometimes too fruity -- maybe it just depends on one's mood.
