: Hello,
: I am a 22 year old College GRaduate in Political Scinece. During my last 2 years of school i decided that I would enjoy the culinary field..I've been in the industry since I was 16. My experience level has grown and i've worked many different types of the food industry(steak houses, fast food, Seafood, etc). I've seen the ups and downs. The work is hard. I would like to eventually own a restaurant. Is it better to go to a culinary school or try an apprenticeship? If a school is the way how do you go about deciding which one?(J&W, CIA,Scottsdale,) or maybe a small school in the VA. area? I'm really looking for a 2 not 4 year program. I've also heard how hard it is to find jobs or is it? What should I look for in scholarships and grants? I've always been an extremely hard worker and my employers enjoy my enthusiasm.
: I have the drive but finding a path is the real question.
: Any help or info. would be deeply appreciated!!!!!!
: Hopefully a chef could give some does and don't!!!!
: Thank You
: DARREN
Hey Darren, I heard recently that Disney had a new program out in Florida. All tuition, room and board paid, you just have to agree to work there for awhile. It could be interesting. Lorri
